My customer reported that for most new users they are not receiving a new user alert email from DNN. If I create a new user account in DNN, the alert is sent. Is an alert sent when a guest places an order and a new account is created for them, also? We are wondering if this is why we are "missing" so many notifications.

Yes, if the customer went through as a guest checkout, there is likely no email that will go ahead because the account is created silently in the background.
