I am trying to make the Grant role "Role 1" example work but I can't.

I have created a roles group "Store" and a role "Buyers" in this group and then I use the basic example with just the role name I have created in there instead of "Role 1".

Is there anything special needed in order to make it work?

    Thanks

You need to create a DNN role group under DNN Admin > Security Roles (e.g. "Store") and then associate the "Buyers" role to that group. The role group is only a logical grouping and doesn't affect how roles work.

Then under Storefront Admin in Configuration > Settings under the Security section, set the Allowed Role Groups to "Store". If you have more than one role group, you can use the pipe delimiter.

This is a security feature to prevent staff from cheating the DNN security system and creating products with high privilege roles such as Administrators role and then purchase the product through the cart.

Now, you can go back to your Place Order Action rule, and set the action to assign the "Buyers" role.
