After clicking impersonate it asks you to log in.

    Hi guys,

I've been using the impersonator module for a couple of months now and it's great. However we have a hosted server on rackspace, I've just up-sized our server and now the impersonator module won't work.

We have a 1 domain license. It did work perfectly but now when we click impersonate it just redirects to the login page.

I've tried removing the license and re-adding it, but we get the same problem. There are no errors in the error log.

EDIT: I also tried un-installing the module completely and ensuring all tables and folders in "DesktopModules" were gone too, then clearing the cache and recylcing the app pool in IIS. I then re-installed the module and have the same issue.

Any idea how to fix this? Do we need a new license or?

We up-sized from 160GB and 4GB ram to 340GB and 8GB ram. Nothing else should have changed. This is the same server with just those two things upgraded.

I've now tried this in Windows 7 and Mac OSX 10.8.

I can re-produce the error on both when I use google chrome.

When using Firefox on Windows 7 it works. Is this an issue with the module? This did work on my Windows 7 machine in Chrome in the past, and I haven't changed any settings recently.

    Hi,

I verified and you have a Professional edition license so it won't get affected by a hardware change. The symptom sounds like a client browser cache issue. Can you try clearing your Chrome's cache?

The impersonator doesn't have any browser specific code and it works correctly on my Chrome here.

Also, the latest version of Revindex Impersonator is 1.0.1. Make sure you're running the latest version just in case.

    Thanks,

    Hi guys,

I'm having a similar issue again with Impersonator 1.1.

If I log in as a host, and enter a username to impersonate, it logs me in for 1 second, then automatically logs me out.

In the event log it says the user I attempted was logged in successfully, but it just redirects to a login page.

Clicking "Restore User" also doesn't work now.

This did work before I went on annual leave on the 24th until the 2nd.

I've cleared my browser cache and also tried in private browsing, no luck though!

I've even removed the module from all pages, uninstalled it, deleted the left behind license file and cleared cache and restarted application pool, then re-installed and tried again, but still the same issue.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

We're not able to reproduce the issue and we don't have anyone else reporting the problem.

What version of DNN are you running?

Since you previously mentionned it used to work before you moved server, can you figure out what changed?

You can also try a few things like restarting your DNN/IIS application, perform the same test as Admin instead of Host user, try to make the page hosting the Impersonator module viewable for all users but the module accessible only to Adminstrators.

    Thanks,
